Banks

State Bank Of India UK (SBIUK)

15 King St, London EC2V 8EA, UK – 020 7454 4300

Excellent personal customer service. I arrived early - before the bank opening times- and was shown to a waiting area and offered a beverage. When the bank actually opened I was delt with promptly and efficiently. Very friendly staff. Very pleasant experience.

Does not provide Credit cards to its account holders. Its Debit card also poses payment problems in 5-10% transactions.Bank has a non cooperative attitude if you face a genuine issue. Customer care support has time limitations. Not a very good experience overall. But secure and safe.

Bank of Ireland (UK) Plc

Bow Bells House, 1 Bread St, London EC4M 9BE, UK – 020 7236 2000

Always been a fabulous bank even though I've had no branch for 3 years, being in England. They own the Post Office so it can offer most branch services, and the 365 online is fabulous, though adding payees or changing your phone number is a bit draconian.

British Arab Commercial Bank

Local Chambers of Commerce for EC3N 4AA. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. I neil kandiah let RUS Building Servicesl landscape my garden and he did my garden an amazing job in just 3 days for very fair price.

Pretty decent overall, though annoying how they now charge for large refuse collection. Just encourages fly tipping.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the Implantcenter staff for their kindness and patience towards me. It's been a year that I have had no difficulties eating and I am smiling freely. :)

Professionalism and empathy. Next time I come for a consultation at the Implantcenter, I will sit in the dental chair without fear. A perfect choice, I can only recommend the clinic to everyone.

Bupa Dental Centre Bank

77 Cornhill, London EC3V 3QQ, UK – 020 7200 5800

I was pleasantly surprised and really grateful for the care and attention I recieved today. The fact that I broke my crown and it was back in within the hour was incredible and the fact that you were 40% cheaper than the nearest dentist was a real surprise. You have a new customer Nd I am genuinely looking forward to coming back for my next appointment...something I have NEVER said about a dentist before.

EC1 Dental Centre

344 Old St, London EC1V 9DS, UK – 020 7739 2553

I, not my daughter Ellie, visited the dentist today along with my husband. I cannot understand the negativity towards the receptionist. As a nervous patient she was courteous, polite and really did talk to me in a way that was king and made me less afraid. She complimented my dentist and said he is very good so you really have nothing to worry about. Excellent receptionist and an asset to the company.

Very pleased, quick service, very nice staff. No non-sense service, you're in your out. They start on time, a rare occurrence these days. Definitely my new goto dentist.

London Doctors Clinic

Waterloo Business Centre, 117 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8UL, UK – 020 7183 0553

Very quick, efficient service. Staff at reception were friendly, doctor was nice and seemed extremely competent. Same day appointment sorted very easily, along with prescription for necessary meds. Would definitely use again.

The best doctor in London - incredibly patient, supportive and properly heard symptoms to recommend next steps. Definitely will see her again!

London Doctors Clinic

3, 344 Grays Inn Rd, Kings Cross, London WC1X 8BP, UK – 020 7183 0553

My appointment was at 8, the main door was closed. There was a number at the door to call to have reception come pick me up. I did, it took them 10 mins to get downstairs. Luckily for me someone went in before hand. I can only imagine if there was no one I would've waited in the cold! Besides from that doctor was good, consultation was fast.

Excellent experience. Had an 11am appointment, was seen at 11am and properly diagnosed. Receptionist was courteous and doctor was knowledgeable. Would highly recommend over waiting hours at NHS

Absolutely fantastic experience of London Doctors Clinic. Super easy and efficient booking system - got text confirmation within a minute and where I had made a mistake in the booking, they called and sorted it immediately. Kind, helpful and professional at every stage. Would heartily recommend.

National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

Queen Square, London WC1N 3BG, UK – 020 3456 7890

Had a 10 day stay back in 2012. Could and would not fault a single thing about this hospital. Got me back up and healthy following major surgery within a week. Dr Neil Kitchen is just a genius. Thank god he's alive. Keep on running Neil. All of the staff i incurred were also " spot on "

Had a 7 hour operation to remove a (thankfully) benign tumour from my spinal cord by Mr Sayal. 9 day stay including 5 days flat on my back and have been looked after marvelously by all staff. Thankyou

Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine

60 Great Ormond St, London WC1N 3HR, UK – 020 3456 7890

Amazing hospitals, treatment Doctors and staff I am so so thankful for finding this hospital it has saved my life and is the only treatment that has manged my pain with no side effects to deal with! unlike the conventional medicines that did nothing for me but make me worse with all side effects

Thank you to all the doctors and staff of the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine. It is wonderful to have this jewel in the crown of our NHS. A place where Complementary & Homeopathic Medicine is integrated alongside Conventional Medicine. I hope that your Hospital receives increased funding and that this model of care will be replicated across the NHS. As the largest public sector provider of Complementary Medicine in Europe, every citizen of the UK should be both proud and grateful to have such a Hospital on our doorstep.

Find Local Churches & Places of Worship

St John's Church, Hoxton

St John's Church, Pitfield St, London N1 6NP, UK – 020 7739 9302

My impression after three visits is that this is a very friendly inclusive church of diverse peoples. There is an enthusiastic positive atmosphere and broad involvement from a wide cross section. Speakers were stimulating and motivating with a thought provoking depth of insight. I loved the extemporaneous intercessions. The musicians leading the contemporary praise and worship were clearly talented and included different age groups and styles. The pews were not the most comfortable but as time sped by very quickly this was hardly an issue. Sound and A/V were good. The interior of the church building is quite impressive but better still were the smiles and welcome from this warm and dedicated bunch of believers!

Nice place, with an excellent kid's playground and small park

Recycling

110 Elephant Rd, London SE17 1LB, UK – 020 7703 7001

Took in my old bike for a part exchange on another. Loads of second hand bikes of all varieties to choose from. Staff members were helpful and informative and encouraged a test ride. Nice smooth transaction. Have a months free servicing if there are any problems. Couldn't ask for more!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Broke my bike lock key and went in here to seek advice. The girl with the septum piercing spent ages looking up the make of my bike lock and walked me through how to get a replacement key.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around London

Ping Pong

Festival Terrace Southbank Centre, Lambeth, London SE1 8XX, UK – 020 7960 4160

Nice food, with a great atmosphere. We had a good selection of food, which was delivered quickly, despite the restaurant being full. Flavours are not overly strong, but the food is tasty. Very helpful and welcoming staff.

Great Location. Waiting time can be a while. the steamed dumplings & cocktails tastes really nice and fresh! What I liked is while you are waiting you are given an electronic handheld device with a number , so you can pop outside or run to the bar or bathroom. When your number is up it vibrates to let you know your table is ready. 😊 I suggest going there with a chatty friend or colleagues, as it can get loud, if you're too quiet you can find yourself drowning in others conversations ( lol) .

Bill's Holborn Restaurant

42 Kingsway, London WC2B 6EY, UK – 020 7242 2981

Great food. Nice ambience. Lots of interesting choice. Had a business lunch there with a client so ordered a table for 8. Good service though they were a little busy. Didn't have the beers we ordered in stock but came back quickly to let us know. Staff are friendly.

Nice food. I like this chain. The Green Olives are amazing. Also usually possible to find a table. The restaurant is also in an interesting building.

Busaba Eathai Hoxton Square

319 Old St, London EC1V 9LE, UK – 020 7729 0808

Casual place with good variety and tasty food. Can get very crowded on weekends so if you're a small group, be ready to have the option to share a big table. Good service 👍.

Simple Thai food in a nice atmosphere. Communal tables and a chilled out vibe. Food is solid if unoriginal and note that items marked spicy are hardly spicy at all to cater for the western crowd. Service a bit hit and miss so don't be afraid to flag down wait staff when you need them!

Mars Montessori Bilingual Nursery

4 Collins Yard, off Islington Green, Angel, London N1 2XU, UK – 020 7099 0452

A wonderful, nurturing and creative environment for little ones. Our son (now in school) loved his time at Mars. The teachers are amazing -- they keep the children engaged but let them do their own thing, always encouraging the children's confidence and independence. The bilingual environment is stimulating and positive, and the menu is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Very pleased with Mars nursery overall . Our daughter has improved so quickly in so many different areas. Her language skills has improved massively in the past few months and her confidence level around other children is now very satisfactory. I will also add a special mention to the quality of food served during lunch time. meat/fish, veggies, fruit and a selection of french cheeses to finish every meal. We highly recommend this Montessori bilingual nursery to any parents who looking for a small and caring environment.for their child

Primary and Secondary Schools

Oaklands Secondary School

Old Bethnal Green Rd, London E2 6PR, UK – 020 7613 1014

I am not rating the school, but i am rating the Arabic class that takes place on Saturdays and Sundays. I moved my child to Tanzeel white chapel, and they treated my child ridiculously bad, so i moved my child to Olive Tree. The Arabic that takes place in Oaklands.

I WILL SAY THIS ONCE! This school was the most annoying place to be but I still miss it

Hackney New School

Fantastic academics but the behaviour policy could do with some reviewing.

Haggerston School

Weymouth Terrace, London E2 8LS, UK – 020 7739 7324

Growing through Haggerston school could be a real pain; however this is where I had built my memories, learned new skills and experienced a range of opportunities. Not to mention my grades were all above B's. They push you to achieve your best.It has a great drama unit. Their drama is very unique and every student is guaranteed a pass if they put in effort because of the teachers fantastic teaching style.
