Local Bookshops

1-3 Whittington Ave, London EC3V 1PJ, UK – 020 7220 7882

Mid-size bookstore. Good array of books. Wide section of travel books (my fav).

Small Waterstones, but still a good bookstore. Very few comics, but the collection of books is great.

Libreria Bookshop

65 Hanbury St, London E1 5JP, UK

Staff have knowledge on *every* book they shelve! It's incredible to be able to pick up a book then spend an hour discussing it with them and being given similar recommendations. They also let you sit down and read, no strings attached, which is lovely. The staff here care more about the customers than the profits.

A great little bookshop open late-ish. Great for stopping by after work for an hour or so with a really great choice and alcoves for sitting and reading. The small selection is well curated with guest shelves which can make choosing a new book a lot easier than in a big Waterstones. Only one small issue is that I found the loud, minimalist techno quite annoying, I think some low classical or jazz would suit it more and be less intrusive.

Blackwell's Bookshop

50-51, High Holborn, London WC1V 6EP, UK – 020 7292 5100

This is a great bookshop in that it has hidden a Cafe Nero at the back, so you can drink a coffee, play with your smart phone and wonder who buys books anymore.

Great that Blackwell survived when sadly so many bookshops closed. Great shop. Helpful staff.
