Local Bookshops

Blackwell's Bookshop

50-51 High Holborn, London WC1V 6EP, UK – 020 7292 5100

Very small bookshop. Never answer their phone so you can check stock before you make an unnecessary journey. Very limited stock and has no association with the publishing company of the same name. Go to Foyles instead.

Plenty of selection but the staff are not as attentive as they used to be. If you need legal literature, you're probably better off going to wildeys down the road from this place. Nonetheless I cannot give them any negative comments.

1-3 Whittington Ave, London EC3V 1PJ, UK – 020 7220 7882

Decent bookshop spanning 2 floors with friendly/helpful staff.

Good service, amazing staff

Daunt Books

61 Cheapside, London EC2V 6AX, UK – 020 7248 1117

A friendly little branch of Daunt Books in the heart of The City. The shop is small, but stocked with all the the usual refinements of the other branches. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was after 2 books that the Marylebone branch was sold out of but after their staff called the Cheapside branch and asked them to hold them both for me. They obliged and I was able to collect them 20 minutes later.

Great variety of books that make for a great way to spend an hour at lunch, and a great way to make me wish I had more money for more books. Would recommend if you're in the area and need a new read.
