Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

Cycle Surgery

i found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable. the store has a good range of products from bikes to accessories and i was able to find what i wanted quickly and easily. it can get quite busy over lunch time so i try to go outside of these times if i need any actual help or advice.

Turned up on Sunday morning 5 June, after a phone call about a Trek Bike they had on offer on their website. So sorry I can't remember the name of the guy who was there and was incredibly helpful in ensuring that the bike was as good a fit as he could say for me personally. After riding it around the local streets my husband and I were happy that it was indeed a great buy. He gave us so much help and support, that we were very happy to take it home immediately. I have since had a couple of good, long rides on it and I am very very pleased. Thank you so much. Highly recommend their service.

Cycle Surgery

Go here! Not other cycle shops nearby *cough* The staff here have helped me no end; teaching me how to change a tire, buying in new pedals, always helping if I have a bit rattling off my bike and NEVER have they been patronising, ignorant or oversold anything to me or been pushy. A lot of work they have done for free; they have won my custom for years to come!

Generally good and have good sales occasionally with discounted Castelli kit

Evans Cycles

The Cavern, 1 Market St, London E1 6AA, UK – 020 7426 0391

Given the mixed reviews I had read, I approached with some trepidation. However, I received excellent, helpful and friendly service. I would recommend this shop without reservation. I often find that as an older woman ( approaching70), who is often ignored or overlooked certain retail environments, shopping for techie type items can be a nightmare. But on this occasion, it was a truly pleasurable buying experience. Special thanks to Ozzy for his patience and help.

I found the staff to be knowledgable and friendly. Prices are reasonable. There were a couple of times I called and there was no answer but then I called back during non-peak times and it was fine. It's not always possible but try to plan your visit for a less busy time and you can probably avoid the negative experience...

Very professional hire service. I hired a Trek Emonda 105 thru the London Bridge shoppe for 3 days and cycled to Box Hill for some training rides. The staff we very helpful and fit my cleats and pedals, seat height perfectly. the bike was in great shape and never let me down once during the time I had the bike. I would highly recommend this shop for cycle hire if visiting London.

Prices are fair and service is speedy, very impressed! Had my rear wheel replaced well within 24hrs and a handlebar replacement turned around in 2hrs.

City Bike Service

4, 100 The Highway, St Katharine's & Wapping, London E1W 2BX, UK – 020 7702 9999

These guys are competent and really keen to provide a good service. Prices are good, workshop is tidy. I've been here twice now, and both times have been a good experience. Today they fixed an electrical problem on my bike they they'd estimated might be about 30-60 mins work; it turned out to be simpler than expected so they charged me £10; they could have charged me more and I'd have been none the wiser, but they didn't. Good honest service. Thanks guys.

Called yesterday afternoon. They asked me to bring in this morning. Was up on the ramp for a service within 10 mins of arrival and Service was finished within an hour. I have a Chinese Scooter, with most of the major Service Centers around London refusing to look at it, but these wonderful people dealt with it like Pros, and had me riding away with a smile on my face and a scooter that felt so much better in the road. I recommend Highly to anyone on 2 wheels. Will be bringing all my bikes to these guys in the future. Friendly, courteous and really great value for money!
