Avoid the ticket counter and go self serve. Very quick reliable and helpful staff had me in and out in 2 minutes to buy envelope and return goods with a prepaid amazon return. And at lunchtime in the city on pension day!
My local post office (sadly not open at weekends). In the many visits I've made, the staff have universally been helpful and friendly. It can't be helped that the PO gets busy sometimes, but there is a fair ticketed queuing system and lots of self-service kiosks (with manned assistance) should you prefer that. The place is always well maintained and the seats are plush and comfy. If the wait's going to be long, you can take a ticket, then grab a coffee from EAT opposite, and return to relax with it while you wait.

I come here a lot to post large parcels internationally, and the man who works here always helps me out so they're not too expensive to post. Yes there are sometimes long queues but it's the same with any small post office.
always enjoyed posting my letters there,as i was a Bermondsey southwark boy,was a portable,cool service delivery hub.kudos

Went in about 4pm today, was a very small queue. An extremely helpful woman asked what I needed and very efficiently and kindly helped me send a recorded delivery letter using the machine. Thank you Walworth Post Office!
