Ninetyeight Bar and Lounge

Morrell House, 98 Curtain Rd, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3AF, UK – 020 7729 4141

Lovely lovely place & one of my local favourites. Don't be intimidated by the sometimes unfriendly bouncers, that's the only downside. The place is quirky, decorated with and incredible eye for detail and lots of love by Kath, the darling owner of 98. Cocktails are great and come with fun decoration and trimmings (try the hard shake to get your avocado fix with a twist - fruity & smooth). Have your choice of colourful all sorts in the front, outdoor greenery in the covered courtyard or mummified baroque in the small back room. If you're lucky the tiki bar in the back is open which proves of the creative genius that takes care of every detail of this place including custom towels for guests to sit on. The one thing I'd say needs updating one day is the sound system. Go here with friends, on dates, with big groups (do call for reservations) or to show off how great London is to one of your friend from out of town

Really interesting decor. Really cool. The staff were very accommodating. I can't wait to go back.

LHT Urban Bar

176 Whitechapel Rd, Whitechapel, London E1 1BJ, UK – 020 7247 8978

Lovely surrounding friendly place. Made to feel very welcome. The most lovely bar staff. Harley 5 stars for you. Will come again when I next visit my son x

Was completely lost in London, went in for shelter. They let me charge my phone and drinks were reasonably priced. Very pleasant staff and gave me some sound advice at 1am, would go back again

The Bar With No Name

69 Colebrooke Row, London N1 8AA, UK – 07540 528593

If a bar is called "bar with no name" then it has a lot of intrigue and this one really lives up to it. It's a small little hideaway bar in the heart of Angel and it has a lot soul to it too. The cocktail list is really well thought out and it's hard to pick a favourite. This place is good for date nights or if there is a small-ish group.

This place has pretty good service and some eclectic cocktails. You'll need to be in a certain demographic to be a customer. I paid £33 for 3 drinks, one of which was a beer, and almonds you could buy in the supermarket for 50p. You'll need to provide your own illumination to read the menu if you're over 45. You might also need a hearing aid.
