I phoned up to ask about their policy in accepting old pound coins, the chap I guess called “Chris” was so friendly over the phone that not only I walked in but switched my current account after he explained how else I could gain. I visited the branch one morning without an appointment as some banking documents became known to me last minute, for an official application due that same afternoon. The representative who spoke with me was Tarkan, who was professional, helpful - a breathe of fresh air compared to other official and commercial personnels I've had to deal with that week. He helped produce as many documents as he could to meet my documentation requirements. I've just had a successful application outcome for the matter! Much thanks to Tarkan I'd say. :) The branch is super swish and you get served in a 'coffee shop' setting (can't remember but I think they did offer proper coffee, too!), very interesting banking style.

I cannot thank Capital Fortune enough. Even though we only required a 50% mortgage, run our own business, incomes and credit histories - due to a recent company sale I wasn't able to get a mortgage from a high street lender. I was really shocked and couldn't understand. I found Capital Fortune online and after a telephone call with Peter Bartlett they said they thought they could arrange a mortgage - and at a normal interest rate. From that point forward they quickly followed through, the decision in principle was in within a few days. Then a full and comprehensive list was sent through of the documents required, our administrator Alex Fryday updated us at every stage, he was always available when I called - I didn't have to leave a message or wait in a hold system queue! The final stages were managed through by Stephen Marsh and we had the same level of support and great service as the other guys in the team. I run my own business and I have been totally impressed by the service. They did exactly what they said they would, they were on the telephone when needed, kept us fully updated and we are really grateful to Peter, Alex and Stephen and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Mortgage application is currently in process. The initial adviser was very helpful and informative but the new case manager fails to acknowledge any emails which is pure rude. Is is as though they have my business so customer services is now out the window. The claims tracker is not correctly maintained. I work in a digital environment where customer experience is top of the list and there is definitely room for improvement at L&C. Review will be updated once the process is complete and rating changed accordingly dependant on future level of service. Come on L&C; it's easy to acknowledge your customers.... I must admit to now being nervous after reading many of the reviews. Fingers crossed the comms gets better...

Comprehensive knowledge and super efficient! I had a challenging buy-to-let mortgage requirement which was complex in execution, and my previous broker failed in identifying banks which could do the deal. Alireza at Alexander Hall then came into the picture, we had the mortgage offer in a very short and painless process and at an incredibly competitive rate. Since then I've had three mortgages with Ali, including my own home. He's knowledgeable, warm and extremely professional. I would never go with anyone else and cannot recommend him and AA enough.

I've never applied for a mortgage before, and the endless comparison sites, fine-print, and conflicting services were a headache before I began. Should I get a mortgage broker and pay £500? Should I just strike out and go with the nearest bank? Then I hard about Trussle on Radio 4, tried it out and it's been amazing. For starters, the interface is very well designed. You sign up and answer questions about your planned purchase. These questions are clear and easy to answer, unlike the market comparison sites. Once you're done, one of the team calls you and makes sure all the answers are complete, and your questions are answered. Documents are uploaded to the service easily, and the history of your account od kept online for you to check in on if needed. Over the course of the mortgage process, the team keeps in contact - often doing a far better job of keeping you up to date than the mortgage provider or the estate agent themselves! And they stay on the ball effortlessly, not needing prods and follow-ups like solicitors, mortgage providers or estate agents do. Also, they maintain your account information properly, meaning they don't keep asking you the same questions over and over, like everyone else in the process does. The whole process took maybe 5 weeks in total, including the home valuation and background checks that organizations have to perform. And the kicker? The service is entirely free! I would never use another method of getting a mortgage, these guys are simply the best.
I was dealt with efficiently from the outset and given a choice of potential lenders without having to trawl through multiple sites. Once my lender was selected there were a few subsequent issues with documentation and the total amount that could be borrowed. However Joe and Giacomo provided suitable advice at every stage and helped move things forward to a successful completion. I've already recommended Trussle to other friends looking for a new mortgage deal.
