It is that wonderful time of year again when we can enjoy having services in our beloved Brentor Church on the Hill.
From now until the end of September evensong is held at 6.30pm every Sunday.
It is especially important for new visitors and all who attend to see the work that has to be done in order to restore the old church to its former glory.
Surveyors have been employed, as they are every 5 years and find that a lot of the pointing and some roof work has to be done.
To this end we have to raise £35,000 for this urgent work.
Any donations, suitably gift aided towards this would be gratefully received by our Treasurer Sue Rhodes Brentor Station, Brentor PL19 0LP
Family History Search
Vic Cowling writes:
Whilst researching my family history, I made contact with a distant relative who told me he recalled visiting my parents/grandparents in West Blackdown shortly after the War and hearing a poem about Brentor/ the church on the hill. It is his recollection that it was written by one of our family. Does anyone know of this work?
If anyone can help Mr Cowling in his research, please contact him on
