Great British Fish and Chips

Westminster Bridge Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 7PB, UK – 020 7928 3019

Nice food tho bit pricey. But still tasted good. Makes a change I guess from Mac d's or the other restaurants around. Great for a quick bite to eat if your coming to see all the iconic sites around. Like big Ben. London Eye. Royal Festival hall. Staff were nice. Did get a table but we were lucky. As it does get busy. Nice artwork inside on the walls. Pictures of the iconic London landmarks. Great views out of the window too. Definitely worth trying if you want something quick or different from burgers or sit down fancy restaurant. Thanks Mac.

Decent fried fish. Couldn’t care for the fries to be honest. Very nice staff and they do a good job with crowd controlling the large amounts of people that come in.

Josef Fish Bar

Petty Wales, St Katharine's & Wapping, London EC3N 4EE, UK – 020 7738 7738

Great fish and chips, even if the food was made a few minutes before we came so it was not super fresh. Would come again.

Great fish and chips and cheap launch

Poppies Fish & Chips, Spitalfields

6-8 Hanbury St, London E1 6QR, UK – 020 7247 0892

This is a fun historical institution that serves up delicious chips alongside fresh fish. Portions are matching to the price and the service is superb. Only thing is that for all the hype about Poppies, I really wasn’t too impressed by the fish. It was good, not great and not even in the proximity of it. Everything else was stellar but if the star of the show doesn’t blow it out of the water, I can’t really give full ratings. Perhaps it speaks to an age where better Fish and Chips exist in the market.

So so so good. I’m from Washington D.C. and Poppy’s had amazing reviews so we decided to try it while we were visiting London. It was amazing. I had the cod and chips and my mom had the haddock. Both were delicious. Perfectly cooked. The fish was crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. We had cokes and we also tried the beef meat pie and the mushy peas. All of it was so good. We’ve been to London three times since first trying Poppy’s and we’ve gone back probably 6 or 7 times just for the fish and chips. The service was great and our food was fresh and hot. Would highly recommend.
